REFLECTIONS

Reflection

What a journey this summer has been ! An odyssey indeed! Facilitating and Managing Learning  has  presented many learning opportunities for me and I am grateful for all of  them. I must confess that at times, I felt  uncomfortable and  completely overwhelmed. As time went by and I became more and more immersed with the course material these feelings dissipated.I must mention  however that I found the Zoom sessions with Camille to have been the highlight of the season. For me those sessions were where we were able to discuss the course content and fast track the application process of the literature which is just what was required in order to apply it to our own individual assignments and the case studies at the end of the unit.  These stood out for me because they provided opportunities to apply knowledge in the area of Project management from the perspective of an Instructional Designer.

Understanding project characteristics, generating a project title, and creating my one project charter all contributed to the development of my knowledge, skills, and abilities in constructing my first computer coding course project. . The interactive Zoom sessions  with our course coordinator  provided a wealth of  knowledge.

I was forced to understand how to use Microsoft Project 2010; it was challenging at first however I have managed to develop and appreciate it  for its usefulness. The Project schedule network diagram cost  me much time and caused me much  misery to put on paper. It was at this point that I realized a few of my learning gaps. I was able to find new ways in understanding the early start, early finish, float, and duration.  The course textbook provided  and the youtube links shared in the zoom sessions   provided some key information that helped me to have a better understanding of  project management processes. I look forward to returning to work and implementing a project to practise the skills which I have just learned.

Group Work- .The group work and collaboration accomplished in  Team Blue’s discussion forum  gave me the opportunity to express my ideas and share various plan documents (such as the risk, cost, and quality management plans) for feedback. The team shared using zoom meetings and I made my contributions there. I shared  in the learning exchange private  messaging forums and also on shared Google documents as a team.

Team Blue worked on improving Chapter 8 as our project focused on expanding on content related to Elements of time management and scheduling  The course work  offered  great insight into how these systems integrate  and their usefulness and relevance to the project.

Groupwork_Honourable Mention

Peer and group feedback played a significant role in achieving the outcome.  I am ever grateful for the feedback and constructive criticism  that was shared  forum the  members (Time was of the essence and there was much reading to be done) Honorable mention to Miss Celia Neufville, a  fellow  team Blue  member  who was  always  supportive, available and willing to offer advice and guidance on my shortcomings in spite of time constraints.   She offered many suggestions and  criticisms  which helped me to observe my work from a different perspective..It has been a great pleasure to work with  her and I intend to continue to serve as a resource person for her and  the team.
